Padstow, Cornwall, is a favourite place I have visited many family holidays and the combination of water and boats are the main focus of this painting.I enjoy painting buildings , I feel as if they take on a personality of their own. History of people , seasons and change are all in mind when I started the initial sketch .The scene has a  feeling  of calm, of nostalgia.The buildings are standing together against the evening sky , empty of the day’s crowds ,listening to the gentle waves in the harbour.
